10U-12U House Program 2022-23

Information is forthcoming for the upcoming 2022-2023 season. Birth years for the 2022-2023 House Program are 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Practice nights have not been set yet.

See information below for a general idea about the 10U-12U House Program.

10U-12U House Program 2021-2022

The House Program is an entry point into the game of hockey and it is targeted at developing the skills of the beginner to intermediate player to both enjoy the game and eventually progress into the more competitive levels.

This level is for ages 9-12 (10U/12U for birth years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012) after the player has learned basic skating and stick skills and has completed one of the following prerequisites:

1) One to two sessions of Learn To Play or
2) The 8U (Mites) House or Travel Program or
3) A session of Lil' Preds.
(Exceptions will be made for younger and older players on a case-by-case basis.)

(Note: Equipment is not provided with this program. If your player needs equipment, please place a free ISO ad in the Facebook group: "Louisville Hockey Buy, Sell, Swap Equipment.")

Registration Information
"Rate Skates" with in-person registrations will be held at Iceland Sports Complex on:

Monday, September 20, 2021  6:45 PM to 7:45 PM
Wednesday, September 22, 2021  6:45 PM to 7:45 PM

Parents/guardians are asked to register with USA Hockey and KAIHA prior to arriving to the ice rink and bring their completed registration form and participant waiver with them. This will expedite your time waiting in line.

Players should arrive at least 30 minutes early with all of their gear and be prepared to skate for the coaches. Players will be evaluated and placed onto a team.

The coaches highly recommend your player attend both Rate Skates in order to be evaluated, but this is not mandatory.

For those opting to participate in Session 2 only, there will not be an in-person registration night and Rate Skate in December. You must contact Elisa Millett (early December is preferred to secure a spot) in order to let me know you are interested in registering for the 2nd session. I will then make arrangements with you to secure the paperwork, jersey rental fee and deliver the uniform.

The entire season is $680.00 or a half season (one session) is $340.00.

Session 1:
Begins last week of September and runs until mid-December 2021
Session 2:
Begins first full week of January and runs until mid-March 2022

Practices will be held once a week and will last one hour. Players will be assigned to either a Monday night or Wednesday night team practice and practices are held from 6:45 PM to 7:45 PM.

Games are held on Saturday mornings (8:30 AM or 9:45 AM) and teams will play one game most Saturday mornings. Teams will travel to play in Lexington on Sunday afternoons (TBD at this time).

Players will need to register with and pay the following:

Step 1) Iceland Sports Complex
Please complete the registration form linked above and register in person during the registration sessions in mid-September, in person at the front office or you can call 502-425-7444 and pay/register over the phone with a credit/debit card. Send the registration form to Elisa Millett (shimstx@gmail.com) and she will email Iceland Sports the form.
Cost: $340-$680 (If you need black knit socks, please add $15.00 to the session fee. See below for uniform info and sock order deadlines.)

Step 2) If you cannot attend the in-person registration, please email Elisa Millett (shimstx@gmail.com) a legible copy of the completed registration form once you have registered with Iceland Sports Complex. The form is very important to assure your player is placed on a team.

Step 3) Register with USA Hockey as a player--Mid-Am district
Cost: $51.00

Step 4) Register with Kentucky Amateur Ice Hockey Association/KAIHA/Louisville Ice Cards Cost: $25.00

Step 5) Uniform orders are arranged through Elisa Millett.

Jerseys will be rented from KAIHA. Price: $25.00 with checks made payable to KAIHA (no credit cards). The $25.00 jersey rental fee will be refunded after the jersey is returned back to KAIHA in good condition at the end of the session or season.

Players wear solid black knit socks. The deadline to order socks is no later than 5 business days prior to the first practice of each session. Socks are $15.00 a pair and payments are made out to Iceland Sports Complex.

Step 6) Complete the participant waiver and turn this into Iceland Sports Complex. See PDF link at the top of this page.

House Hockey Volunteer Coaches and Managers Needed

The 10U-12U House Hockey Program is currently seeking volunteers to coach and manage teams. You do not have to have a player on a team to help out.

Coaches and team managers must complete USA Hockey volunteer/coach registration, SafeSports training and a background check. Coaches also must complete a USA Hockey coaching clinic as well as complete the 10U/12U online training modules.

Please contact Phil Millett for more information at PhilM130@aol.com or 502/314-4043
